Description
- An antispasmodic drug that reduces muscle spasm of the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus. Used in symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract, biliary system, urological, and gynaecological diseases.
Indications
- Reduces muscle spasms in the intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus
Pharmacology
- Tiemonium Methylsulphate, a competitive antagonist of Acetylcholine and Histamine
DosageAndAdministration
- Adult dosage: 2-6 tablets or 3-9 teaspoonfuls syrup daily in divided doses
- Children dosage: 3 ml/kg or 6 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses
- Injection dosage: 1 Tiemonium Methylsulphate Injection 3 times daily
- Suppository dosage: 20 mg Tiemonium Methylsulphate suppository two or three times daily
Interaction
- Consult a registered physician before using with other drugs to avoid possible interaction
Contraindications
- Not to be used in urethroprostatic disorder involving a risk of urine retention
- Contraindicated in patients at risk of angle closure glaucoma
