Indications
- Reduces muscle spasm of intestine, biliary system, bladder, and uterus
- Symptomatic treatment of pain related to functional disorders of the digestive tract and biliary system
- Treatment of spasm and pain in urological and gynaecological diseases
Pharmacology
- Tiemonium Methylsulphate as a competitive antagonist of Acetylcholine
- Inhibits intracellular contractile protein of visceral cell
Dosage & Administration
- Usual adult dose: 2-6 tablets or 3-9 teaspoonfuls syrup daily in divided doses
- Usual children dose: 3 ml/kg or 6 mg/kg body weight daily in divided doses
- Injection: 1 Tiemonium Methylsulphate Injection 3 times daily
- Suppository: 20 mg Tiemonium Methylsulphate suppository two or three times daily
Interaction
- Not to be used with other drugs without prior consultation
Contraindications
- Should not be used in urethroprostatic disorder involving a risk of urine retention
- Contraindicated in patients with a risk of angle closure glaucoma
Side Effects
- Risk of hypotension and tachycardia
Pregnancy & Lactation
- No teratogenic effects reported in animal studies
- Prudence advised for nursing mothers
Precautions & Warnings
- Caution in patients with prostate disorders, chronic bronchitis, coronary insufficiency, ambient hyperthermia, renal & hepatic insufficiency
Use in Special Populations
