Indications
- Adjuvant Breast Cancer
- Metastatic Breast Cancer
- Metastatic Gastric Cancer
Dosage
- Recommended Doses and Schedules
- Administer according to one of the following doses and schedules for a total of 52 weeks of Trastuzumab therapy
Administration
- Using a sterile syringe, slowly inject the diluent into the vial
- Swirl the vial gently to aid reconstitution
Mode of Action
Trastuzumab inhibits the proliferation of human tumor cells that overexpress HER2 and is a mediator of antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity
Interaction
Patients who receive anthracycline after stopping Herceptin may be at increased risk of cardiac dysfunction

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman

Precautions & Warnings
- Cardiomyopathy can cause left ventricular cardiac dysfunction
- Conduct thorough cardiac assessment
Use in Special Populations
The safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established
Reconstitution
Reconstitute each vial of Herceptin with Bacteriostatic Water for Injection
Storage Conditions
- Store the vial in original carton at 2°-8°C
- Protect from light
- Do not freeze
