Description
G-Ketamine is indicated as the sole anesthetic agent for diagnostic and surgical procedures that do not require skeletal muscle relaxation. It is a rapid-acting, nonbarbiturate general anesthetic, producing an anesthetic state characterized by profound analgesia. The onset of action is rapid, lasting 5 to 10 minutes, and can be extended with additional doses. G-Ketamine is contraindicated in those with significant elevation of blood pressure and in those who have shown hypersensitivity to the drug. Common side effects include changes in cardiovascular, respiratory, eye, neurological, and gastrointestinal functions. Pregnancy use is not recommended. It belongs to the therapeutic class of general (intravenous) anesthetics and should be stored in a cool dry place protected from light.
