Description
Domperidone is a dopamine antagonist used to treat dyspeptic symptom complex, acute nausea and vomiting, Parkinson's disease, and speeding barium transit in follow-through radiological studies.

Usability Features
- To be taken before meals
- Contraindicated in neonates
- Caution in patients with hepatic impairment or renal insufficiency
Dosage & Administration
- Adults:
- 10-20 mg (1-2 tablet or 10-20 ml suspension), every 6-8 hours daily
- Children:
- 2-4 ml suspension/10 kg body weight or 0.4-0.8 ml pediatric drops/10 kg body weight, every 6-8 hours daily
Interactions
- Antagonizes with anticholinergic drugs
- Lowered bioavailability with antacids and antisecretory drugs
- Metabolized through CYP3A4
- May influence absorption of concomitantly orally administered drugs
- Does not potentiate neuroleptics
- Suppresses unwanted peripheral effects of dopaminergic agonists

- Known hypersensitivity
- Neonates
- Gastrointestinal hemorrhage
- Mechanical obstruction or perforation
- Prolactin releasing pituitary tumor (prolactinoma)
