Indications
- Short-term management of post-operative pain

Chemical Composition
5 benzoyle-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrroligine-1-carboxylic acid, compound with 2 - amino-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol (1:1)
Mode of Action
Inhibits synthesis of prostaglandins and acts as a peripherally acting analgesic
Pharmacokinetic Property
Linear, highly protein bound, largely metabolized in liver, excreted in urine
Dosage Recommendations
- Tablet: 10 mg every 4-6 hours for short-term use (up to 7 days)
- Injection: Single or multiple doses for moderately severe, acute pain
- Eye Drops: 1 drop in each eye 4 times daily for adult use
Interaction
- Increased side effects with other NSAIDs or aspirin
- Enhanced anti-coagulant effect with anti-coagulants
- Reduced anti-hypertensive effect with Beta Blocker
- Increased risk of renal impairment with ACE Inhibitors
- Enhanced toxicity of methotrexate
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the drug or other NSAIDs
- Children under 16 years of age
- Prophylactic analgesic before surgery

Precautions & Warnings
- Exercise caution in patients over the age of 65 years
- Caution in patients with active or suspected peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, asthma, and liver dysfunction
- Discontinue use of topical NSAIDs in patients with evidence of corneal epithelial breakdown
- Avoid administering while wearing contact lenses (for eye drops)
