Indications

Description
- Chemical composition: 5 benzoyle-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrroligine-1-carboxylic acid, compound with 2 - amino-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol (1:1)
- Biological activity associated with the S-form
- Linear pharmacokinetic properties
- Highly protein bound and largely metabolized in the liver
- Metabolites and unchanged drugs excreted in the urine
Mode of Action
- Inhibition of cyclooxygenase enzyme system
- Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis
- Minimal anti-inflammatory effect at analgesic dose
Dosage & Administration
- Tablet: Recommended dose is 10 mg every 4-6 hours for short-term use (up to 7 days)
- Injection: Single or multiple doses for acute pain management, with specific dosing guidelines for different patient populations and age groups
- Eye Drops: Recommended administration frequency of 1 drop in each eye 4 times daily
Interaction
- Increased side effects with other NSAIDs or aspirin
- Enhanced anti-coagulant effect with anti-coagulants
- Reduced anti-hypertensive effect with Beta Blocker
- Increased risk of renal impairment with ACE Inhibitors
- Enhanced toxicity of methotrexate
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Ketorolac or other NSAIDs
- Use in children under 16 years of age
- Prophylactic use before surgery

Precautions & Warnings

- Immediate discontinuation and close monitoring in case of corneal epithelial breakdown with Eye Drops
- Avoidance of administration while wearing contact lenses with Eye Drops
