Indications
- Short-term management of moderate to severe acute post-operative pain
- Relieve pain, inflammation, and light sensitivity after ocular surgery
- Decrease eye inflammation or redness caused by seasonal allergies
Description
- Belongs to the pyrrolo-pyrrole group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
- Chemical name: 5 benzoyle-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrroligine-1-carboxylic acid, compound with 2-amino-2-(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol
- Inhibits prostaglandin synthesis as a peripherally acting analgesic
- Biological activity associated with the S-form
- Linear pharmacokinetic property
- Highly protein bound
- Metabolized in the liver
- Excretion in urine
Pharmacology
- Potent analgesic among non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
- Inhibits cyclooxygenase enzyme system
- Minimal anti-inflammatory effect at analgesic dose
Dosage & Administration
- Tablet recommended dose: 10 mg every 4-6 hours

Interaction
- Other NSAIDs or aspirin: Increase side effects

Contraindications
