Indications
- Short-term management of acute post-operative pain
- Relieves pain after ocular surgery
- Reduces eye inflammation caused by allergies
Description
- Belongs to the pyrrolo-pyrrole group of NSAIDs
- Inhibits synthesis of prostaglandins
- Metabolized in the liver
- Highly protein bound
Pharmacology
- Inhibits cyclooxygenase enzyme system
- Minimal anti-inflammatory effect at analgesic dose
Dosage & Administration
- Tablet: Recommended dose is 10 mg every 4-6 hours for up to 7 days
- Injection: Recommended dosages based on age and condition
- Eye Drops: Administration frequency and dosage for adults
Interaction
- Increased side effects with other NSAIDs or aspirin
- Enhanced anticoagulant effect with anticoagulants
- Reduction in antihypertensive effect with beta blockers
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Ketolab or other NSAIDs
- Children under 16 years of age
- Prophylactic use before surgery
