Indications
- Treatment of increased tone of skeletal muscles due to organic neurological disorders
- Muscular spasm and contracture treatment
- Treatment of vascular diseases
- Treatment of post-thrombotic venous and lymphatic circulation disorders and crural ulcer
Pharmacology
- Centrally acting muscle relaxant
- Acts on the central nervous system
- Used for elevated muscle tone and tension
- Used for certain circulation problems in the extremities
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended adult dose: 50-150 mg three times daily
- Children's dosing: from 3 months to 6 years- 5 mg/kg/day, from 6 to 14 years- 2-4 mg/kg/day
- Individual requirement and tolerance of the patient should be considered
Interaction
- Concomitant use of methocarbamol with Mydocalm may cause disturbance of visual accommodation
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the product
- Contraindicated in patients with myasthenia gravis
- Contraindicated in nursing mothers
Side Effects
- Possible side-effects: muscular weakness, headache, nausea, vomiting, hypersensitivity reactions including itching, redness of the skin, skin rash
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Should be used in pregnancy according to physician's advice
- Not to be used during breastfeeding
Precautions & Warnings
- For children, the prescribed dose and duration of treatment should closely be observed
