Description
- Tolperisone Hydrochloride is a centrally acting muscle relaxant used for the treatment of elevated muscle tone, tension, and certain circulation problems in the extremities.
Indications
- Treatment of increased tone of skeletal muscles due to organic neurological disorders
- Treatment of muscular spasm and contracture
- Treatment of vascular diseases (arteriosclerosis, diabetic angiopathy)
- Treatment of post-thrombotic venous and lymphatic circulation disorders and crural ulcer
Mode of Action
- Centrally acting muscle relaxant
- Acts on the central nervous system
Dosage & Administration
- Adult dose: 50-150 mg three times daily
- Children (3 months to 6 years) dose: 5 mg/kg/day in three divided doses
- Children (6 to 14 years) dose: 2-4 mg/kg/day in three divided doses
Interaction
- Concomitant use of methocarbamol can cause disturbance of visual accommodation
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the product
- Myasthenia gravis
- Nursing mother

- Hypersensitivity reactions (itching, redness of the skin, skin rash)
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use in pregnancy should be according to physician's advice
- Not recommended during breastfeeding
