Description

Dopadon 10 mg Tablet is a dopamine antagonist medication that offers relief from nausea, vomiting, dyspeptic symptom complex, acute and sub-acute conditions, and speeds up barium transit in radiological studies.

DosageAndAdministration

  • Should be taken 15-30 minutes before meals
  • Adults: 10-20 mg every 6-8 hours daily (maximum dose 80 mg/day)
  • Children: 2-4 ml suspension/10 kg body weight every 6-8 hours daily

PharmacologicalAction

  • Dopamine antagonist
  • Blocks dopamine receptors in the Chemoreceptor Trigger Zone (CTZ) and stomach
  • Gastroprokinetic action based on its blocking effect of dopamine receptors

Interaction

  • Contraindicated with anticholinergic drugs
  • Avoid simultaneous administration with antacids and antisecretory drugs
  • Metabolism through CYP3A4 pathway
  • Potential interaction with azole antifungals, macrolide antibiotics, HIV protease inhibitors, nefazodone, etc.
