Description
Dopadon 10 mg Tablet is a dopamine antagonist medication that offers relief from nausea, vomiting, dyspeptic symptom complex, acute and sub-acute conditions, and speeds up barium transit in radiological studies.
DosageAndAdministration
- Should be taken 15-30 minutes before meals
- Adults: 10-20 mg every 6-8 hours daily (maximum dose 80 mg/day)
- Children: 2-4 ml suspension/10 kg body weight every 6-8 hours daily
PharmacologicalAction
- Dopamine antagonist
- Blocks dopamine receptors in the Chemoreceptor Trigger Zone (CTZ) and stomach
- Gastroprokinetic action based on its blocking effect of dopamine receptors
Interaction
- Contraindicated with anticholinergic drugs
- Avoid simultaneous administration with antacids and antisecretory drugs
- Metabolism through CYP3A4 pathway
- Potential interaction with azole antifungals, macrolide antibiotics, HIV protease inhibitors, nefazodone, etc.
