Dosage & Administration

Pharmacology
- Dopamine antagonist
- Blocks dopamine receptors in the CTZ and stomach

- Enhances antral and duodenal peristalsis
- Increases esophageal peristalsis
Interaction
- Antagonizes with anticholinergic drugs
- Lower its bioavailability with antacids and antisecretory drugs
- Metabolic pathway through CYP3A4
- Potential interaction with CYP3A4 inhibitors and orally administered drugs
- Does not potentiate the action of neuroleptics
- Suppresses the unwanted peripheral effects of dopaminergic agonists
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to the drug
