Description

  • Indicated for the treatment of non-infectious blepharitis and conjunctivitis
  • Treatment of non-infectious keratitis, punctate keratitis, and disciform keratitis
  • Management of inflammation of the anterior uvea (iritis, iridocyclitis)
  • Suitable for scleritis, episcleritis, myositis, and post-operative care after ocular surgeries
  • Contains Dexamethasone, a cortisone derivative with anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-exudative, and anti-proliferative properties
  • Therapeutic concentrations found in the cornea and aqueous humor 15-30 minutes after local application
  • Inhibition of phospholipase A2 and chemotactic infiltration of neutrophils into the site of inflammation
  • Dosage & Administration: 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 3-5 times per day for ophthalmic solution; Apply a small amount into the conjunctival sac 3-4 times per day for ophthalmic ointment
  • No specific drug interaction studies conducted with Dexadron
  • Contraindicated in injuries and ulcerating processes of the cornea, particularly those of bacterial or viral origin, purulent infections of the conjunctiva and eyelids, tuberculosis, mycosis, and glaucoma
  • Predisposed patients may experience a reversible rise in intraocular pressure after corticosteroid application for several weeks
  • Use of dexamethasone ophthalmic preparation during pregnancy should be carefully evaluated based on potential benefits and risks
  • Corticosteroids may mask, activate, or aggravate eye infections, caution should be taken if no improvement is observed after a few days of application
  • Storage conditions: Store at room temperature, protect from light, and use contents within one month after first opening
