Indications

Pharmacology
- Cortisone derivative

Dosage & Administration
- Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 3-5 times per day for ophthalmic solution
- Apply a small amount into the conjunctival sac 3-4 times per day for ophthalmic ointment
- Slowly close eyes without blinking after applying ointment
- Minimize dose when desired improvement is observed

Contraindications
- Injuries and ulcerating processes of the cornea
- Bacterial or viral origin ulcers
- Purulent infections of the conjunctiva and eyelids
- Tuberculosis
- Mycosis
- Glaucoma
Side Effects
- Reversible rise in intraocular pressure in predisposed patients
- Regular pressure measurements essential
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Adverse effects on fetus shown in animal experiments
- No control human studies available
- Use during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies risk to fetus
Precautions & Warnings
- Corticosteroids may mask, activate or aggravate eye infections
- If no improvement after a few days, seek alternative treatment
- Avoid touching dropper tip to surfaces
Overdose Effects
- Unlikely overdose through local or accidental oral administration
