- no adequate and well-controlled studies
- use during pregnancy if potential benefit justifies risk

Precautions & Warnings
- possibility of persistent fungal infections of the cornea
- prolonged use may result in cataract formation
- glaucoma with optic nerve damage
- intraocular pressure monitoring
- overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms
- discontinuation if new infections appear
