Interaction

  • Increase in the effect of anticoagulants when absorbed

  • Reduced efficacy of dexamethasone with concomitant phenobarbitone administration
  • Reduced efficacy of dexamethasone with concomitant ephedrine administration
  • Reduced efficacy of dexamethasone with concomitant rifampicin administration

Contraindications

  • Epithelial herpes simplex cornealis
  • Fungal, viral, tuberculous and other infections of the eye
  • Glaucoma
  • Myelosuppression during previous exposure to Chloramphenicol
  • Hypersensitivity to Chloramphenicol
  • Hypersensitivity to Dexamethasone Phosphate

  • Discontinuation and alternative therapy for new infections
