Dosage and Administration

  • 1 drop to be instilled into conjunctival sac(s) every 4 to 6 hours
  • Dosage increase during initial 24 to 48 hours
  • Different dosages for acute otitis media and otitis externa in pediatric patients with typanastomy tube
  • Pediatric use below 1 year not established

Interaction

  • No specific drug interaction studies conducted with ophthalmic Ciprofloxacin and Dexamethasone
  • Possible elevation of plasma concentrations of theophylline with systemic quinolones
  • Interference with the metabolism of caffeine
  • Enhanced effects of oral anticoagulant warfarin and its derivatives
  • Transient elevations in serum creatinine with cyclosporin concomitantly
