Dexagen G 0.3%+0.1% (Ophthalmic Solution)

Indications

• Steroid responsive ocular inflammatory conditions
• Blepharitis
• Scleritis
• Episcleritis
• Iritis
• Cyclitis
• Iridocyclitis
• Choroiditis
• Optic neuritis
• Chronic anterior uveitis
• Disciform and interstitial keratitis
• Allergic corneal marginal ulcers
• Corneal injury from chemical radiation or thermal burns

Pharmacology

• Dexamethasone decreases inflammation by inhibiting leukocyte migration
• Dexamethasone suppresses normal immune response
• Gatifloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and Topoisomerase IV

Dosage & Administration

Instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac 3 to 4 times daily

Contraindications

• Epithelial herpes simplex keratitis
• Vaccinia
• Varicella
• Viral diseases of the conjunctiva and cornea
• Mycobacterial infection of the eye
• Fungal diseases of ocular structures
• Hypersensitivity to any components of the medication

Side Effects

• Mild burning
• Chemosis
• Redness

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Use in pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus
• Caution during lactation

Precautions & Warnings

For ophthalmic use only. Monitor intraocular pressure if used for 10 days or more

Use in Special Populations

Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established

Overdose Effects

Overdose through local administration is not known. Specific measures to reduce resorption in case of accidental oral intake

Storage Conditions

• Store at room temperature
• Protect from light
• Close the bottle immediately after use
• Do not use for longer than one month after opening the bottle
