Indications

Steroid responsive inflammatory ocular conditions
Chronic anterior uveitis
Corneal injury from chemical radiation or thermal burns
Penetration of foreign bodies

Pharmacology

Bactericidal activity
Inhibition of normal protein synthesis
Inhibition of phospholipase A2
Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis
Inhibition of chemo-tactic infiltration

Dosage & Administration

Eye Drops: 3-5 times per day
Increased dosage during initial 24 to 48 hours
Eye Ointment: 3-4 times per day
Pediatric Use below the age of 2 years not established

Interaction

Interval of 10 minutes between successive applications with other topical ophthalmic medicines

Contraindications

Epithelial herpes simplex keratitis
Mycobacterial infection of the eye
Hypersensitivity to any component of the medication
