Indications

Steroid responsive inflammatory ocular conditions
Chronic anterior uveitis
Corneal injury
Penetration of foreign bodies

Pharmacology

Bactericidal activity of Tobramycin
Inhibition of normal protein synthesis
Inhibition of phospholipase A2
Inhibition of chemo-tactic infiltration of neutrophils

Dosage & Administration

Eye Drops: 3-5 times per day
Eye Ointment: 3-4 times per day
Pediatric Use: Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients below the age of 2 years have not been established

Interaction

No specific interaction studies were performed with Orbidex T
Interval of 10 minutes between successive applications with other topical ophthalmic medicines

Contraindications

Epithelial herpes simplex keratitis
Mycobacterial infection of the eye
Hypersensitivity to any component of the medication

Hypersensitivity
Localized ocular toxicity
Elevation of intraocular pressure
Optic nerve damage
Posterior sub capsular cataract formation
Delayed wound healing

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnancy: Use only if potential benefit justifies potent risk to the fetus
Nursing Mothers: Caution should be exercised

Precautions & Warnings

Possibility of fungal infections of the cornea
Prolonged use may result in overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms
Cross-sensitivity to other aminoglycoside antibiotics may occur

Overdose Effects

Overdose through local administration is not known
Specific measures to reduce resorption should be taken in case of accidental oral intake
No specific antidote

Storage Conditions

Store at room temperature
Close the bottle immediately after use
