Indications
- Treatment of steroid responsive inflammation of the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva
- Treatment of inflammation of cornea and anterior segment of the globe
Pharmacology
- Corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory action
- Action to inciting agents of mechanical, chemical or immunological nature
- Induction of phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins
- Control of biosynthesis of potent mediators of inflammation
- Lower propensity to increase intraocular pressure
Dosage & Administration
- Shake bottle before use
- Instill 1 to 2 drops into the conjunctival sac two to four times daily
- Safe dosage increase to 2 drops every hour for initial 24 to 48 hours
- Not demonstrated safety and effectiveness in children under 2 years of age

- No specific drug interaction studies conducted
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with acute superficial Herpes simplex keratitis
- Contraindicated in patients with fungal diseases of ocular structures
- Contraindicated in patients with viral diseases of cornea and conjunctiva
- Contraindicated in patients with tuberculosis of the eye
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to constituents of medication

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category B3
- Use during pregnancy justified if potential benefit outweighs potential risk to fetus
- Potential for serious adverse reactions in nursing infants
- Decision on nursing should consider importance of drug to mother
Precautions & Warnings
- Cautious use in patients with history of Herpes simplex keratitis
- Limit corticosteroid use to 10 days except under strict supervision
- Regular checks for intraocular pressure
- Possibility of masking, activating or aggravating eye infection
- Consider alternative treatment if no improvement after a few days of application
