Indications
- Allergic conjunctivitis
- Acne rosacea

Pharmacology
Corticosteroids inhibit the inflammatory response to various inciting agents and probably delay or slow healing.
Dosage & Administration
- 0.5% ophthalmic suspension:
- Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac of the eye(s) four times a day for ocular inflammation
- Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac of the operated eye(s) four times a day for inflammation after surgery
- 1% ophthalmic suspension:
- Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac of the eye(s) 2 times a day for ocular inflammation
- Instill 1 drop into the conjunctival sac of the operated eye(s) 2 times a day for inflammation after surgery
- 0.5% ophthalmic ointment: Apply a small amount into conjunctival sac(s) four times daily after surgery
- Ophthalmic gel: Instill one to two drops into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye four times daily after surgery
- Use in children: Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established
- Geriatric Use: No overall differences in safety and effectiveness have been observed between elderly and younger patients
Interaction
Not expected to affect the pharmacokinetics of systemically administered medicinal products.
Contraindications
- Viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva
- Mycobacterial infection of the eye
- Fungal diseases of ocular structures
- Known or suspected hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
- Other corticosteroids
Side Effects
- Elevated intraocular pressure
- Visual acuity and field defects
- Cataract formation
- Ocular infection
- Perforation of the globe
- Abnormal vision/blurring
- Burning on instillation
- Dry eyes
- Photophobia
- Headache
- Rhinitis
- Pharyngitis
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy Category C. Reproductive toxicity observed in animal studies. Caution should be exercised when administered to a nursing woman.
Precautions & Warnings
- Re-evaluate if signs and symptoms fail to improve after two days
- Monitor intraocular pressure if used for 10 days or longer
- Consider fungus invasion in any persistent corneal ulceration
- Advise consulting a physician if redness or itching worsens
- Patients should not wear contact lenses during therapy

Storage Conditions
Store below 30 degree C in a dry place protected from light. Do not touch tube tip to any surface. Use within one month after first opening. Protect from freezing.
