Indications
- Treatment of postoperative inflammation
- Reduction of ocular pain after cataract extraction
Pharmacology
- Bromfenac ophthalmic solution
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)
- Blocks prostaglandin synthesis
- Inhibits cyclooxygenase 1 and 2
Dosage & Administration
- One drop applied to affected eye(s) once daily
- Begins 1 day prior to cataract surgery
- Continued on the day of surgery
- Continued through the first 14 days of the postoperative period
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to any ingredients of the formulation

- Abnormal sensation in eye
- Conjunctival hyperemia
- Eye irritation
- Eye pain
- Eye pruritus
- Eye redness
- Headache
- Iritis

- Pregnancy Category C
- Caution during pregnancy
- Caution for nursing women
Precautions & Warnings
- May slow or delay healing
- Use with caution in patients with bleeding tendencies
- Concomitant use with topical steroids may increase risk of healing problems
