Indications

Treatment of allergic conjunctivitis
Relief of itchy, watery, red & swollen eyes
Treatment of vernal kerato-conjunctivitis

Pharmacology

Potent anti-allergic substance
Non-competitive histamine (H1) receptor blocking property
Inhibits release of mediators from cells responsible for type-(I) allergic reactions
Stabilizes mast cells
Decreases chemotaxis of eosinophils

Dosage & Administration

1 drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily for adults and children 3 years and older
Consult with a doctor for children under 3 years of age

Interaction

Interval of at least 5 minutes required when used concomitantly with other eye medications

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Ketotifen or any of the components

Pregnancy & Lactation

Caution advised during pregnancy
Unlikely excretion into breast milk
Can be used during lactation

Precautions & Warnings

Contains benzalkonium chloride as a preservative
Should not be instilled while wearing soft contact lenses
Lenses should be removed before application of the drops
Not to be reinserted earlier than 15 minutes after use

Overdose Effects

No reported cases of overdose
No serious signs or symptoms seen after oral ingestion of up to 20 mg
