Indications
- Treatment of allergic conjunctivitis
- Relief from itchy, watery, red, and swollen eyes
- Effective for vernal kerato-conjunctivitis
- Suitable for blepharitis and blepharo-conjunctivitis
Pharmacology
- Potent anti-allergic substance
- Non-competitive histamine (H1) receptor blocking property
- Inhibition of mediators release
- Stabilization of mast cells
- Decreases chemotaxis of eosinophils
Dosage & Administration
- 1 drop in affected eye(s) twice daily for adults and children 3 years and older
- Consultation required for children under 3 years of age
Interaction
- 5-minute interval required when used concomitantly with other eye medications
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Ketotifen or any of the components

- Burning and stinging sensation
- Punctate corneal epithelial erosion
- Blurring of vision upon drug instillation
- Dry eyes and eyelid disorder
- Eye pain and photophobia
- Subconjunctival hemorrhage
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Limited data on use in pregnant women
- Caution advised during pregnancy
- Possible excretion into breast milk
- Safe use during lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Contains benzalkonium chloride as a preservative
- Avoid instillation when wearing soft contact lenses
- Wait 15 minutes before reinserting lenses
