Pemast 0.1% (Ophthalmic Solution)

Indications

• Prevention of itching of the eye due to allergic conjunctivitis

Pharmacology

• Binds to the histamine H1 receptor
• Blocks the action of endogenous histamine
• Inhibits antigen-stimulated calcium ion influx into mast cells
• Inhibits chemotaxis of eosinophils into ocular tissue
• Prevents inflammatory mediator release from human eosinophils

Dosage & Administration

• Adult: 1 to 2 drops in each affected eye four times daily
• Pediatric Use: Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients below the age of 3 years have not been established

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients

• Burning of eye
• Dry eye
• Ocular discomfort
• Non ocular allergy
• Sinusitis
• Headache
• Sneezing or nasal congestion

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Pregnancy: Benefit outweighs the risk
• Lactation: Caution should be exercised

Precautions & Warnings

• Avoid touching the eyelids or surrounding areas with the dropper tip
• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use
• Do not wear contact lens if the eye is red
• Wait 10 minutes after applying before inserting contact lenses

Storage Conditions

• Store at 15-25°C
• Keep out of reach of children
• Do not use more than 4 weeks after opening
