Indications
- Treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma
Pharmacology
- Inhibition of carbonic anhydrase in the ciliary processes of the eye decreases aqueous humor secretion
- Reduction in intraocular pressure (IOP)
Dosage & Administration
- Shake well before use
- Insert 1 drop in the affected eye(s) three times daily
- May be used concomitantly with other topical ophthalmic products
- Pediatric use: One drop 2 times daily in pediatric patients (4 weeks to 5 years age)
- Geriatric use: No overall differences in safety or effectiveness between elderly and younger patients
Interaction
- Rare instances of drug interactions with high-dose salicylate therapy in patients treated with oral carbonic anhydrase inhibitors

- Hypersensitivity to any component of this product

Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category C
- No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
- Use during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus and baby
Precautions & Warnings
- Sulfonamide and absorbed systemically
- Adverse reactions attributable to sulfonamides may occur
- Fatalities reported due to severe reactions to sulfonamides
- Sensitization may occur when a sulfonamide is re-administered
- Discontinue use if serious reactions or hypersensitivity occur
- Not recommended in renal impairment patients
- Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment
Overdose Effects
- Electrolyte imbalance
- Development of an acidosis state
- Possible nervous system effects
- Serum electrolyte levels and blood pH levels should be monitored

Storage Conditions
- Store at room temperature & protect from light
- Do not touch dropper tip to any surface
- Contents should not be used more than four weeks after first opening of the bottle
