Description
- Ocutear Eye Care Solution is indicated for tear deficiency due to impaired lacrimal secretion, functional disorders, or deficient eyelid closure. It can be used as an ophthalmic solution or gel enriched with Carbomer 980 for lubricating the eye surface and alleviating ocular discomfort.

Pharmacology
- Hypromellose as a semisynthetic, inert and viscoelastic polymer
- Acts as a lubricant and artificial tear
- Symptomatic treatment of dehydration of the cornea and conjunctiva
DosageAndAdministration
- Individual dosage regimen for dry eye syndrome therapy
- Usual dose of 0.3% Hypromellose is 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 3 to 5 times per day
- Dose of 0.5% Hypromellose varies and should be followed as directed by the physician
- Instill 1 or 2 drops of Ophthalmic Gel in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) as needed
- Frequency of administration depends on the severity of the condition
Interaction
- Can be used in combination with contact lenses
- No compatibility study with lens material available
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the drug or any ingredient in the formulation or component of the container

- Brief blurred vision
- Slight stinging sensation on instilling Ocutear
- Burning and stinging reported in some cases
- Allergic reactions and red eyes reported
- Transient blurring of vision after administration reported
