Pharmacology
- Vitamin C is highly concentrated in the lens compared to blood
- Long term Vitamin C supplement use associated with reduced risk of cataract
- Vitamin E associated with reduced risk of cataract
- Lutein protects the macula from oxidative or light damage
- High levels of dietary Lutein associated with lower risk of AMD
- Zinc is involved in many enzyme systems
- Copper plays important role in growth and skeletal integrity
Dosage & Administration

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in persons with hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients
Side Effects
- Large doses of Vitamin C may cause diarrhoea and gastrointestinal disturbances
- Large doses of Vitamin E may cause diarrhoea, abdominal pain, fatigue, and weakness
- Side effects of Zinc salt are abdominal pain and dyspepsia

- Recommended for use in pregnancy and lactation
Precautions & Warnings
- Vitamin C should be given with care to patients with hyperoxaluria
- Vitamin E should be given carefully in patients taking oral anticoagulants or oestrogen
