Catrix (2 mg+0.5 mg +0.6 mg+10 mg)/ml (Ophthalmic Solution)

Indications

• Used for the treatment of lens opacification

Composition

• Adenosine BP: 2 mg per ml
• Cytochrome-C Ph. Gr.: 0.5 mg per ml
• Sodium Succinate Ph. Gr.: 0.6 mg per ml
• Nicotinamide BP: 10 mg per ml
• Preservative: Thiomersal 0.005%

Pharmacology

• Cytochrome C involved in oxidative phosphorylation
• Sodium Succinate promotes ATP production
• Adenosine essential for lens function
• Nicotinamide involved in ATP and NADPH production

Dosage & Administration

• One drop into the affected eye twice daily

Interaction

• Inform doctor of ongoing treatment to avoid interaction

Contraindications

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity

Side Effects

• May cause discomfort in some patients

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Recommended to ask doctor before use if pregnant or nursing

Precautions & Warnings

• Do not inject or swallow
• Wait 15 minutes between each instillation for concomitant treatment

• Accidental ingestion unlikely to cause toxicity due to low content
