Description
- Sympathomimetic agent with marked alpha-adrenergic activity
- Constricts nasal blood vessels
- Decongests the mucosa of the nose and neighboring regions of the pharynx

Mode of Action
- Alpha-adrenergic activity causes vasoconstriction of nasal blood vessels
- Activation of alpha-adrenergic receptors leads to resumption of nasal airflow
Dosage & Administration
- Adults: 2-3 drops in each nostril 2-3 times daily (0.1% concentration)
- Children 6-12 years: 2-3 drops in each nostril 2-3 times daily (0.05% concentration)
- Children less than 6 years: 1 drop in each nostril 2-3 times daily (0.05% concentration)
- Infants less than 3 months: Not to be used
- Children 2-12 years: 1 spray per nostril not more often than 3 times per day (0.05% concentration)
- Adults and adolescents: 1 spray into each nostril 1-3 times daily (0.1% concentration)

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with transsphenoidal hypophysectomy
- Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to Xylometazoline
- One-person use to prevent cross-infection
