Indications

Pharmacology
- Active ingredient: Magaldrate
- Converted in gastric acid to Mg(OH)2 and Al(OH)3
- Provides sustained antacid effect
Dosage & Administration
- Tablet dosage: 1-3 tablets after meals and at bedtime
- Syrup dosage: 2 to 3 teaspoonful 3-4 times daily
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to magnesium and aluminum
- Impaired renal function
Side Effects
- May cause constipation
- May cause diarrhea
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Use in pregnancy if indicated
- Avoid excessive dosage in pregnancy
- May pass into breast milk
- Not reported to cause problems in nursing babies
