Digecid Plus (480 mg+20 mg)/5 ml (Oral Suspension)

Indications

• Relief of dyspepsia
• Heartburn relief
• Acid indigestion relief
• Relief from sour stomach
• Treatment for gastroesophageal reflux
• Treatment for hiatal hernia
• Hyperacidity relief
• Relief from peptic ulcers
• Relief from gastritis
• Relief from esophagitis
• Relief of flatulence
• Relief from abdominal distension
• Relief from windy colic

Pharmacology

• Contains magaldrate and simethicone
• Magaldrate neutralizes gastric acid
• Magaldrate decreases activity of pepsin
• Simethicone enables gas bubbles to coalesce
• Relief from flatulence

Dosage & Administration

• Tablet: 1-4 chewable tablets
• Suspension: 2-4 teaspoonfuls (10-20 ml)
• To be taken 20-60 minutes after meals and at bedtime
• Or as directed by physician

Interaction

• Not to be used with Tetracycline
• May affect bio-availability or absorption of certain drugs

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to magnesium and aluminium
• Impaired renal functions

Side Effects

• Uncommon gastrointestinal side-effects
• Possible diarrhea, constipation, regurgitation with excessive consumption

Pregnancy & Lactation

• May be used in pregnancy with caution
• Passes into breast milk but no reported problems in nursing babies

Precautions & Warnings

• Caution in decreased kidney function
• Caution in hypophosphataemia
• Caution in weak individuals

Overdose Effects

• Rare occurrence of overdose with this formulation
