Maganta Plus (480 mg+20 mg)/5 ml (Oral Suspension)

Indications

• Relief of dyspepsia
• Relief of heartburn
• Relief of acid indigestion
• Relief of sour stomach
• Relief of gastroesophageal reflux
• Relief of hiatal hernia
• Relief of hyperacidity associated with peptic ulcers
• Relief of gastritis
• Relief of esophagitis
• Relief of flatulence
• Relief of abdominal distension
• Relief of windy colic

Pharmacology

• Combination of magaldrate and simethicone
• Magaldrate neutralizes gastric acid
• Magaldrate decreases the activity of pepsin
• Simethicone enables gas bubble coalescence

Dosage & Administration

• 1-4 chewable tablets after meals and at bedtime
• 2-4 teaspoonfuls (10-20 ml) of suspension after meals and at bedtime

Interaction

• Not to be used with Tetracycline
• May reduce bioavailability of certain drugs
• May slow absorption of propranolol, isoniazid, prednisolone, and naproxen

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to magnesium and aluminium
• Impaired renal functions

Side Effects

• Occasional gastrointestinal side-effects
• Possible diarrhea, constipation, or regurgitation with excessive consumption

Pregnancy & Lactation

• May be used in pregnancy if indicated
• Avoid excessive dosage
• May pass into breast milk

Precautions & Warnings

• Care needed in decreased kidney function
• Care needed in hypophosphataemia
• Care needed in weak individuals

Overdose Effects

• Overdosage is rare
