Indications

• Relief of dyspepsia
• Relief of heartburn
• Relief of acid indigestion
• Relief of sour stomach
• Relief of gastroesophageal reflux
• Relief of hiatal hernia
• Hyperacidity associated with peptic ulcers
• Hyperacidity associated with gastritis
• Hyperacidity associated with esophagitis
• Relief of flatulence
• Relief of abdominal distension
• Relief of windy colic

Pharmacology

• Combination of magaldrate and simethicone
• Magaldrate neutralizes gastric acid
• Magaldrate decreases pepsin activity
• Simethicone coalesces gas bubbles

Dosage & Administration

• 1-4 chewable tablets after meals and at bedtime
• 2-4 teaspoonfuls of suspension after meals and at bedtime

Interaction

• Not to be used with Tetracycline
• May affect absorption of drugs like propranolol, isoniazid, prednisolone, naproxen

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to magnesium and aluminium
• Impaired renal functions

Side Effects

• Occasional gastrointestinal side-effects
• Possible diarrhea, constipation, regurgitation with excessive consumption

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Usage possible in pregnancy with caution
• Potential passage into breast milk without reported problems in nursing babies

Precautions & Warnings

• Care in decreased kidney function
• Care in hypophosphataemia
• Care in weak individuals

Overdose Effects

• Rare cases of overdose reported
