Pharmacology
- Combination of magaldrate and simethicone
- Magaldrate neutralizes gastric acid quickly
- Magaldrate decreases pepsin activity
- Simethicone enables gas bubbles to coalesce
Dosage & Administration
- 1-4 chewable tablets after meals and at bedtime
- 2-4 teaspoonfuls of suspension after meals and at bedtime
Interaction
- Not to be used with Tetracycline
- May reduce bio-availability or slower absorption of propranolol
- May reduce bio-availability or slower absorption of isoniazid
- May reduce bio-availability or slower absorption of prednisolone
- May reduce bio-availability or slower absorption of naproxen
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to magnesium and aluminum
- Contraindicated in patients with impaired renal functions

- Occasional gastrointestinal side-effects
- Potential for diarrhea
- Potential for constipation
- Potential for regurgitation
Pregnancy & Lactation
- May be used in pregnancy if indicated
- Avoid excessive dosage in pregnancy
- May pass into breast milk
- Not reported to cause problems in nursing babies

- Caution in decreased kidney function
- Caution in hypophosphatemia
- Caution in weak individuals
