Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to the drug, neonates, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, mechanical obstruction, perforation, prolactin releasing pituitary tumor
Storage condition: Below 30°C, protected from light and moisture
Therapeutic class: Motility Stimulants, Dopamine antagonist, Prokinetic drugs

Adult dose: 10-20 mg (1-2 tablets or 10-20 ml suspension) every 6-8 hours daily
Maximum adult dose: 80 mg daily
Children's dose: 2-4 ml suspension/10 kg body weight or 0.4-0.8 ml paediatric drops/10 kg body weight every 6-8 hours daily
Suppository dose for adults: 30-60 mg every 4-8 hours
Maximum suppository dose for children: 30 mg for those weighing 10 to 25 kg

Concomitant administration of anticholinergic drugs may antagonize the antidyspeptic effect of domperidone
Antacids and antisecretory drugs should not be given simultaneously with domperidone
Metabolic pathway primarily through CYP3A4
Inhibition of CYP3A4 may increase plasma levels of domperidone
Potential influence on the absorption of concomitantly orally administered drugs
Examples of CYP3A4 inhibitors: azole antifungals, macrolide antibiotics, HIV protease inhibitors, nefazodone
Does not potentiate the action of neuroleptics
Suppresses unwanted peripheral effects of dopaminergic agonists

Use during the first trimester justified by the anticipated therapeutic benefit
No evidence of increase in the risk of malformations in humans
Excretion in breast milk, 4 times lower than corresponding plasma concentrations
Nursing not recommended unless expected benefits outweigh potential risk

Symptoms may include drowsiness, disorientation, and extrapyramidal reactions
Administration of activated charcoal and close observation recommended
Anticholinergic, antiparkinson drugs, or antihistamines may be helpful in controlling extrapyramidal reactions
