Indications

Pharmacology
- Combination of magaldrate and simethicone
- Magaldrate neutralizes gastric acid quickly
- Magaldrate decreases pepsin activity
- Simethicone enables gas bubble coalescence
Dosage & Administration
- 1-4 chewable tablets dosage
- 20 to 60 minutes after meals dosage
- At bedtime dosage
- 2-4 teaspoonfuls of suspension dosage
- 10-20 ml of suspension dosage
- 20 to 60 minutes after meals dosage
- At bedtime dosage
Interaction
- Should not be used with Tetracycline
- May reduce bio-availability of propranolol
- May reduce bio-availability of isoniazid
- May reduce bio-availability of prednisolone
- May reduce bio-availability of naproxen
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to magnesium
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to aluminium
- Contraindicated in patients with impaired renal functions
Side Effects
- Occasional gastrointestinal side-effects
- Diarrhea in case of excessive consumption
- Constipation in case of excessive consumption
- Regurgitation in case of excessive consumption
Pregnancy & Lactation
- May be used in pregnancy if indicated
- Avoid excessive dosage during pregnancy
- May pass into breast milk
Precautions & Warnings
- Care should be taken in decreased kidney function
- Care should be taken in hypophosphataemia
- Care should be taken with weak people
Overdose Effects
- Over dosage is rare
