Description

  • Musculotropic antispasmodic agent

Indications

  • Symptomatic treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • Chronic irritable colon
  • Spastic constipation
  • Mucous colitis
  • Colicky abdominal pain
  • Persistent non-specific diarrhea

Dosage & Administration

  • Mebeverine Hydrochloride 135 mg tablet: 1 tablet 3 times daily
  • Mebeverine Hydrochloride 200 mg capsule: 1 capsule 2 times daily
  • Most effective when taken 20 minutes before meals
  • Gradual dosage reduction after desired effect is obtained
  • Missed dose management
  • Not recommended for children under 10 years

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to the drug or any other ingredients

  • Well tolerated in general
  • Possible side-effects: skin rash, urticaria, angioedema

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • No teratogenicity shown in animal experiments
  • Usual precautions during pregnancy
