Description
Dopamine antagonist medication for dyspeptic symptom complex, acute nausea and vomiting, Parkinson's disease, and radiological studies.
DosageAndAdministration
- Should be taken 15-30 minutes before meals
- Usual recommended oral dose for adults: 10-20 mg every 6-8 hours daily
- Maximum dose for adults: 80 mg daily
- Dosage varies for children based on body weight
- Rectal administration for specific cases
Pharmacology
Restores normal motility and tone of the upper gastrointestinal tract, facilitates gastric emptying, enhances antral and duodenal peristalsis, regulates contraction of the pylorus, increases esophageal peristalsis, and lower esophageal sphincter pressure

Interactions
- Anticholinergic drugs may antagonize its effect
