Indications

Pharmacology
- Nucleotide analog inhibitor
- Specifically inhibits HCV NS5B polymerase
- Intracellular metabolism to form active uridine analog triphosphate
Dosage & Administration
- One 400 mg tablet taken once daily with or without food
- Combination therapy with Ribavirin or Pegylated Interferon and Ribavirin
- Recommended combination therapy for different HCV genotypes
Interaction
- Reduced therapeutic effect with potent P-gp inducers
- Increased risk of bradycardia with amiodarone co-administration
Contraindications
- Contraindicated in pregnant women or male partners of pregnant women
- Applicable contraindications of combination therapies
Side Effects
- Common adverse events with Sofovir-C in combination with Ribavirin
- Common adverse events observed with Sofovir-C in combination with Peginterferon alfa and Ribavirin
Pregnancy & Lactation
- Pregnancy Category B
- No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
- Unknown presence in human breast milk
