Indications
- Treatment of moderate to severe symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
- Reduction in the risk of acute urinary retention and surgery in patients with moderate to severe symptoms of BPH
Pharmacology
- Tamsulosin Hydrochloride & Dutasteride combination
- Antagonist of alpha1A-adrenoreceptors
- Dual 5 alpha reductase inhibitor (5ARI)
- Improvement in urine flow rate
- Reduction in symptoms of BPH
Dosage & Administration
- Recommended dose: Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4 mg & Dutasteride 0.5 mg
- Oral administration after the same meal each day
- Swallow whole, not chewed or opened
- Renal impairment: no adjustment in dosage anticipated
- Hepatic impairment: caution in patients with mild to moderate impairment, contra-indicated in severe impairment

Precautions & Warnings
- Prescribed after careful benefit risk assessment
- Increased risk of adverse events including cardiac failure
- Effects on prostate specific antigen (PSA) and prostate cancer detection
- Regular evaluation for prostate cancer risk
- Caution in patients with renal impairment
- Orthostatic hypotension
- Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome observed in some patients
