Indications

  • acute purulent conjunctivitis
  • fresh inflammation of the superficial and deeper corneal layers
  • corneal ulceration
  • keratitis disciformis
  • post-herpetic keratitis
  • allergic conjunctivitis
  • allergic blepharitis
  • acute iritis
  • chronic iritis
  • chronic anterior uveitis
  • corneal injury from chemical radiation or thermal burns
  • penetration of foreign bodies
  • otitis externa
  • otitis media

Interaction

  • increased effect when taken with anticoagulants
  • inhibition with Phenobarbital

Contraindications

  • epithelial herpes simplex cornealis
  • fungal, viral, tuberculous and other infections of the eye
  • glaucoma
  • myelosuppression during previous exposure to Chloramphenicol
  • hypersensitivity to Chloramphenicol & Dexamethasone Phosphate or any other ingredients

  • intraocular pressure monitoring
  • overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms
  • discontinuation and alternative therapy if new infections appear
