Description

Xevirol is a medicine indicated in advanced Hormone Receptor-Positive, HER2-Negative Breast Cancer, Advanced Neuroendocrine Tumors, Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma, Renal Angiomyolipoma With Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, and Subependymal Giant Cell Astrocytoma. It is also used in combination with ciclosporin for microemulsion & corticosteroids for the prophylaxis of organ rejection in adult patients at low to moderate immunological risk receiving an allogeneic renal or cardiac transplant.

Dosage & Administration

  • Initial dose of 0.75 mg bd for general kidney & heart transplant population
  • 1 mg bd for hepatic transplant
  • Recommended 10 mg dose for breast cancer, neuroendocrine tumors, renal cell carcinoma, and renal angiomyolipoma with TSC
  • Swallow whole with water

Precautions & Warnings

  • Increased risk for angioedema with concomitant ACE inhibitor therapy
  • Monitor for clinical symptoms or radiological changes for interstitial lung disease/noninfectious pneumonitis
  • Immune-suppressive effects may increase risk for severe or fatal infections
  • Common mouth ulcers, stomatitis, and oral mucositis
  • May delay wound healing and increase wound-related complications
  • Cases of renal failure observed
  • Impairment of male fertility
  • Avoid use of live vaccines during treatment
  • Can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman
