Indications

Pharmacology
- Promotes assembly of microtubules
- Stabilizes microtubules
- Inhibition of cellular functions
- Induces abnormal arrays of microtubules
Dosage & Administration
- Premedication prior to administration
- Different dosages for different treatments
- Infusion time and intervals
- Dose adjustment based on patient tolerance
Interaction
- Clearance not affected by cimetidine
- Interaction with cisplatin and doxorubicin
- Metabolism by cytochrome P450 isoenzymes
Contraindications
- Severe hypersensitivity reactions
- Contraindicated during lactation
- Not to be used in patients with baseline neutrophils or platelets below specified levels
- Contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment
