Indications

Pharmacology
- Platinum compound
- Inhibits DNA synthesis
- Inhibits protein and RNA synthesis
- Produces intra-and interstrand cross links
Dosage & Administration
- Administered by slow intravenous infusion
- Should not be given by rapid intravenous injection
- Dose varies for different types of tumors
- Specific dosages for metastatic testicular and ovarian tumors, advanced bladder cancer, and non small cell lung carcinoma
Interaction
- Used in combination with other antineoplastic drugs
- Potential drug interactions with nephrotoxic, ototoxic, renally excreted, anticonvulsant, and antigout drugs
Contraindications
- Pre-existing renal impairment
- History of hypersensitivity to Cisplatin or Platinum containing compounds
- Myelosuppressed patients
- Patients with hearing impairment

- Hypomagnesemia, hypocalcemia, hypokalemia
