Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to the drug or any of its components

Side Effects
- Frequent adverse events like headache, constipation, diarrhea

- Sensation of flushing, hiccups, liver enzyme abnormalities
- Rare cases of anaphylaxis, brochospasm, tachycardia, angina, hypokalemia, shortness of breath
- No evidence of extrapyramidal reactions
Pregnancy & Lactation
- No evidence of impaired fertility or harm to fetus in animals
- No adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women
- Excretion in breast milk of rats, caution in nursing women
Precautions & Warnings
- Reported hypersensitivity reactions
- Not a drug that stimulates gastric or intestinal peristalsis
- Should not be used instead of nasogastric suction
- May mask a progressive ileus and/or gastric distension
Use in Special Populations
- Dosage adjustment for patients with impaired renal function
- Dosage adjustment for severe hepatic impairment
- Limited information about pediatric patients 4 years of age or younger
- No dosage adjustment for patients over the age of 65
