Indications
- Treats hypovolemia caused by surgery, hemorrhage, and trauma
- Corrects excessive sweating, severe diarrhea, and vomiting
- Replenishes fluid and electrolytes
- Treats severe plasma loss caused by intestinal obstruction and burns
- Used to treat metabolic acidosis associated with dehydration
Composition
- Sterile solution of Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Chloride and Sodium Lactate
- Contains specific quantities of Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Chloride, and Sodium Lactate per 100ml of solution
- Provides specific amounts of Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, Bicarbonate, and Chloride per litre
Dosage
- Dependent on patient's age, weight, and clinical condition
- Recommended flow rate of up to 100 drops/minute/70 kg body weight
- Specific dosage calculation for burn patients according to the Parkland formula

Contraindications
- Relatively contraindicated in patients with diabetes mellitus due to gluconeogenic isomers of lactate
Side Effects
- Mild swelling of hands, ankles, and feet
- Rare lung complications causing breathing difficulty
- Possible symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, and inflammation or swelling of veins around the injection site
Pregnancy & Lactation

- No animal reproduction studies conducted
- Should be given to a pregnant woman only if clearly needed
Precautions & Warnings
- Should not be administered rapidly or for prolonged periods
