Indications

Pharmacology

  • Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal drug
  • Anti-inflammatory properties
  • Analgesic properties
  • Inhibitor of cyclooxygenase enzyme
  • Inhibition of prostaglandin production
  • Rapid and complete absorption after oral administration

Dosage & Administration

  • Recommended adult dose: one 200mg extended-release Aceclofenac tablet daily or as prescribed by the physician
  • Recommended adult dose: 100mg film-coated Aceclofenac tablet, twice daily

Interaction

  • No significant drug interactions observed
  • Close monitoring required when used with lithium and digoxin
  • Interaction with diuretics
  • Enhancement of anticoagulant activity
  • Increase in plasma level of methotrexate

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity
  • Contraindicated in patients where aspirin or NSAIDs precipitate asthma attacks

Side Effects

  • Non-steroidal drug with anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties

Pregnancy & Lactation

  • Caution in cardiac or renal impairment
  • Caution in patients suffering from dizziness or urticaria

  • No clinical data on use of Xtrafen in children
